My favorite writing snack
Okay, so I know I'm supposed to write about writing, but as I've said before, I LOVE food and I couldn't resist talking about my new snack revelation.
I know lots of writers have their quirks. I've read that one author has to have a bowl of YELLOW only M&Ms on her desk (at 1 o'clock, no less -- position, not time), and James Joyce apparently wrote on his stomach in bed.
I guess I'm still discovering my own crazy quirks because I don't have any just yet, but I do have a new favorite snack. And it is...
KAYA
TOAST

My simple recipe requires:
Japanese white bread (found at local Asian bakery or Japanese supermarket)
Kaya jam
Butter (optional. I'm in the minority when I say I don't think it adds much)
And voila! You have:
Here's a video on how to make kaya, in case you can't find it anywhere nearby. Also, their kaya toast looks a little fancier and fluffier than mine so I'm a tad jealous, but it's all good :)
